Russian offensives also hit six European satellites. Baby content was replaced by war.

When we talk about , we are talking about conflicts on land, between soldiers, or for example about attacks with drones or missiles. But the conflict does not end there.

A Russia tem wholesale at least six European satellites over the last few months. One of the attacks took place in November.

And these Kremlin offensives affected… the Baby TV. The television channel, which supposedly only shows content for babies, has shown Russian propaganda in some countries.

One of them is the Netherlands. The channel reveals that the interruptions that have occurred on the channel since March are not a failure in the satellite company Eutelsat, which provides BabyTV’s television signal.

Are they really collateral damage of a wider Russian sabotage offensive disrupting European satellites.

The first case was in March. Those who were customers of the operator KPN experienced an hour of Russian interference in the Baby TV broadcast. But at the time nobody noticed. Not even KPN itself. It was only months later that they realized it (and because of the journalistic investigation).

On the same day, the Ukrainian channel FreedomTV he was also entitled to a Russian propaganda video. This channel is also connected to the satellite Eutelsat.

This is because Russia managed to take over the television signal from that satellite, transmitting a much stronger signal. It’s a signal hijacking.

Days later, Dutch customers of VodafoneZiggo and Odido also saw Russian war propaganda on BabyTV.

These moments have been repeating themselves over the last few months – but KPN manages to escape: are left without an imageinstead of showing Kremlin propaganda.

The focus of Russian attacks on satellites is Ukrainian television channels. BabyTV outages are likely collateral damage.

But the Dutch Government is worried and wants Dutch television providers to map out their dependence on satellites.

In Europe, more than 125 million people depend on satellites to watch television.
