Chinese delegation requested sweep of 400 rooms; the US sent logistical support by plane

G20 activities in Rio require a special security scheme for the stay of foreign authorities. The GLO (Guarantee of Law and Order) decree came into force this Thursday (14.Nov.2024), which gives the Armed Forces police power over the city.

The event of the world’s largest economies will bring together 50 delegations and 15 international bodies. A security corridor has been established in the area where the agendas will be held. According to the report, the Chinese delegation requested a sweep of the 400 rooms occupied by President Xi Jinping’s team. They also asked for sniffer dogs, snipers to guard the hotel and the closure of a beach area. Marines must escort the Chinese delegation.

The United States delegation will be escorted by the (Federal Highway Police). The US government sent logistical assistance for the visit of President Joe Biden (Democrat).

The Russian escort will be carried out by the Tactical Motorcycle Battalion of the (Military Police of the State of Rio de Janeiro), according to the news portal.
