Federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP) criticized this Friday (15) the political use of the attack that took place in Praça dos Três dos Poderes. The parliamentarian considers that there is an “attempt at manipulation” to link the episode to his father, former president Jair Bolsonaro, and the right.

On Wednesday night (13), locksmith Francisco Wanderley Luiz, known as Tiu França, exploded artifacts in front of the headquarters building of the Federal Supreme Court (STF). An explosion was also recorded in a car parked near Annex 4 of the Chamber of Deputies.
The 59-year-old man died near the “Justice” statue after detonating another artifact. He was a candidate for councilor for PL in the municipality of Rio do Sul (SC), in 2020, but was not elected. For Eduardo, the locksmith’s action was a “tragic suicide” and not an attack on the Three Powers.
However, the director general of the Federal Police, Andrei Passos, stated that preliminary investigations indicate that the man intended to “kill Supreme Court ministers”. The attack is being investigated as a possible act of terrorism and an attack on the Democratic Rule of Law.
According to Wanderley’s ex-wife, he had been planning the attack for a long time with the aim of killing minister Alexandre de Moraes and “whoever was nearby” at the time. She told the PF that the locksmith “only talked about politics” and had been obsessed with the attack on the magistrate since Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) won the election in 2022.
Eduardo says the left tries to use “incident” against opposition
At the demonstration, Eduardo pointed out that Wanderley “clearly expressed his rejection” of both Bolsonaro and Lula in messages on social media, as well as “deep discontent with the political polarization in the country”.
The deputy considers that the “attempted instrumentalization” of the case by the left “reveals a worrying moral bankruptcy” with the aim of “exploiting the incident to achieve their political objectives and trying to justify persecution and abuse against the opposition”.
He also mentioned that the person responsible for the explosions was an “individual with clear mental disorders who tragically took his own life”.
“This opportunistic use of this tragedy, without any empathy for the pain of a family that has just lost a loved one and the shock of millions of Brazilians, is a worrying reflection of a political discourse that has lost touch with respect and dignity” , said Eduardo Bolsonaro on behalf of the PL.
