According to the general director of the PF, Andrei Rodrigues, Wanderley was in Brasília on other occasions — including at the beginning of last year. However, there is still no information whether he participated in the attacks on January 8, which also targeted the buildings of the Three Powers.

According to Rodrigues, in the action carried out by the bomber.

Statements from the bomber’s family members were also taken by the PF on Thursday. A former wife from Wanderley said that one of his plans was to kill STF minister Alexandre de Moraes.

Trailer

An indication that could indicate advance planning, according to Rodrigues, was a trailer connected to Francisco.

“This trailer was rented a few months ago – it was not a recent thing – and was in a strategic point close to the STF, which points us to, in fact, medium and perhaps long-term planning and which signals the seriousness of everything that was done”, he said.

Inspection of seized cell phone

PF agents. The device was seized on Thursday morning in a trailer believed to be owned by Wanderley in a parking lot close to the STF and the Chamber.

According to investigators interviewed by CNNthe expectation is that this Thursday the data from the cell phone will be extracted. Thus, messages can help to find out if he had support and what the real plan of attack would be.

Box found

Another artifact is being investigated by the PF: .

“We are carrying out analysis and identifying whether it actually belongs to this same episode,” said Rodrigues.

Connections

Rodrigues said that he considers that Wednesday’s case “is not an isolated incident” and that the PF’s anti-terrorism unit is working on the case.

These extremist groups are active and need us to act forcefully. We understand that yesterday’s episode is not an isolated incident, but is connected to several other actions, which the Federal Police have been investigating recently.

Items used

According to the PF, Wanderley used bombs that resembled grenades, “tube bombs”, remote-activated bombs, fireworks (in the car, with supporting bricks) and a device that resembled a flamethrower.

Agents searched the house he used, in Ceilândia, the trailer and the car. The police found a buried box, which is being examined.

There were more explosives inside the trailer.

In a statement sent to agents, the PF stated that the determination seeks to reinforce security and guarantee public order.

“This period requires increased attention, and the presence of our teams will be essential for the prevention and rapid response to possible incidents”, informed the corporation.

According to the PF, the summoned personnel must be prepared to be called “at any time”, “remaining accessible and available for possible emergencies”.

Family members make revelations

Wanderley’s family members were interviewed by the PF and made revelations about the case.

An ex-wife of the bomber said.

“I wanted to kill Minister Alexandre de Moraes and whoever else was with him at the time of the attack,” the witness told agents from the Federal Police intelligence sector.

According to the testimony, the attack was planned and there were Google searches in relation to the minister.

Farewell message

Francisco Wanderley Luiz’s son told the PF. According to his account, only after seeing news about the attack did he understand the message.

The son also said in the statement that his father “had political beliefs, but nothing very radical”. According to him, Wanderley had a monthly income of R$5,000.
