Experts reveal the benefits of having one at home in the wet months. Unfortunately, over the cold and wet winter months, condensation becomes a problem in most homes and eventually the excess humidity can stimulate the appearance of mold and mildew.
Starting to use a dehumidifier helps a lot, says Chris Michael, the managing director of Meaco, quoted in Woman & Home.
“Dehumidifiers reduce the humidity level by sucking the air out of the room, removing the moisture and then blowing the warm, dry air back into the room,” he explains.
He also explains that using a dehumidifier ends up being more economical than turning on the heating. So, “if you’re putting off turning on the heating in your home, a dehumidifier will help keep the damp at bay”.
