395%? US residents want to “escape” to Europe

Donald Trump won the election, and the next day they almost quintupled…the next day. Portugal in the spotlight.

It is true that it was, it is certain that it was the people of the USA who chose him – but it seems that a lot of people want to escape the country North American because Donald Trump will be president.

We have already highlighted that Portugal has become a more “appetizing” destination for some US residents.

But the panorama is more general, in relation to Europe: there has even become a (very) greatest demand for houses in Europeby the US population.

Data from HousingAnywhere, Europe’s medium-term rental platform, shows a 395% increase of US users searching for content related to moving to Europe… the day after the elections. In other words, on November 6th,

That day, around two thirds of the platform’s total users focused on searching for properties in Europe – and yes, with Portugal highlighted, in addition to Spain e Italy.

Furthermore, 26% of these users’ activity involved reading content about moving to Europe. One of these contents was seek clarification before moving from the USA to Portugal.
