Director of events at Barra da Tijuca, Eugênia Jizetti shared a video in a WhatsApp group with the phrase real advocacy “without, without outsiders, without traitors”.

The dispute for command of the neighborhood subsection in Rio de Janeiro has the candidate for vice president.

Jizetti is a candidate for counselor on the OAB Unida e Renovada Barra da Tijuca ticket, whose presidential name is lawyer Renata Mansur.

She is competing for the position with Kaiser Motta, whose deputy is Lhuba Fernanda Stanescon Batuli Mouchalouat, daughter of Mirian Stanescon Batuli, the first gypsy to graduate in Law in Brazil.

The video was shared by Jizetti last Tuesday (12) in a group with around 200 lawyers from Barra da Tijuca. The recording shows Mansur supporters at his campaign events.

In the last few seconds, a screen displays the following phrase: “Real law, without fake news, without gypsies, without outsiders, without traitors!!! Let’s remain firm, Chapa 11’s victory is right there on 11/25!! Let’s go!” give the answer at the polls, electing Renata with more than 80% of the votes!!!!!”

To the Panel, Lhuba claims to have been shocked by the video. “It is public and well-known that I am of the gypsy ethnicity. As I am the first daughter, I traditionally carry the legacy of leadership in the movement”, she says.

The lawyer claims that the situation affected her emotional side. “I come from a family that came as refugees and went through atrocities. My mother went through a lot of prejudice at school. I relived all these stories she told me”, she says, and filed a police report against Jizetti for prejudice.

She claims that Mansur got in touch to offer solidarity. On a social network, the presidential candidate posted a note rejecting “any and all forms of intolerance and prejudice.”

In a statement, OAB Barra says it has initiated administrative proceedings. “The Institution repudiates any manifestation of intolerance, prejudice and discrimination, reaffirming its commitment to promoting justice and respect for human rights, fighting for a society that values, respects and protects cultural, sexual and racial diversity.”

Jizetti denies having authored the content and said she sent the message “carelessly, without any intention of inciting hatred, prejudice or discrimination of any kind.”

“The oversight occurred due to the multiplicity of messages received in a moment of joy and euphoria due to the great success of the events held that day”, he says, in a note. “I deeply regret what happened, reaffirming my respect for everyone, regardless of their origins, beliefs or identities.”
