The wave of solidarity after the September fires continues. In Vouzela, many livestock producers continue to receive support to be able to feed their animals.
One month after the fires at this Castro Daire logistics base, tons and tons of food continue to arrive for the herds. The fire left the landscape bare and help came at the right time.
With thousands of hectares destroyed, and almost a thousand small farmers affected by September’s fires, the local priority was to prevent pastoralists from giving up their activity.
“We have clearly invested in a very strong brand in our municipality, which is the latest Transhumance Route, which even won a world award in Berlin this year, logically we have to treat and support the basis of all this, which is the primary sector , the agricultural sector, because without this strong sector our territory will not be valued. And this is a clear strategy and we will do everything so that this sector, in addition to remaining, can grow”, explains Paulo Almeida, president of the Castro Daire chamber.
The wave of solidarity after the fires has not yet ended and, from this Association, support is distributed to dozens of producers.
These, helped by the municipality of Castro Daire with feed and hay, are not prevented from making applications for state support up to six thousand euros can be made until the end of the year.
