Charter defends the promotion of democracy and the participation of civil society and the progressive taxation of the super-rich
The president (PT) participates in the ceremony to hand over the final document of the G20 Social, accompanied by the South African president, Cyril Ramaphosa, who will assume the presidency of the G20 in 2025. Read (802 kb).
The ceremony will also be attended by: (PSB), vice-president of the Republic and minister of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services; Tawakkol Karman, Nobel Peace Prize winner in 2011; representative of international civil society; and Ceres Hadich, representing Brazilian civil society.

THE EVENT
The G20 Leaders’ Summit will be held for the first time in Brazil. The headquarters will be Rio de Janeiro. It will be held from Thursday (14.Nov.2024), in the case of the G20 Social Summit, and from Monday (18.Nov.2024) to Tuesday (19.Nov.2024), at the meeting of the largest economies of the planet.
The presidents of the United States, Joe Biden, and China, Xi Jinping, are expected to participate in the event. Brazil was to be president of the G20 in 2024. The next country to lead the agenda is South Africa, which will take over on November 30 of this year. Brazil taxes the super-rich and fights hunger.
The G20 event will be at the Museum of Modern Art, on the Flamengo embankment.
