The state of registered 309,934 new companies between January and October this year, surpassing the entire year 2023, when the number was 307,326.
The growth is based on data from the Commercial Board of the State of São Paulo (Jucesp), linked to the Secretariat of Economic Development.
October also recorded the highest number of business openings in a single month, with 35,406 new businesses, in addition to the highest monthly net balance, with 23,059 companies.
In the last ten months, São Paulo recorded six months with more than 30 thousand companies open. The numbers do not include Individual Microentrepreneurs (MEIs).
According to management (Republicans), the performance reflects actions to strengthen entrepreneurship, such as easier access to credit and support programs for micro and small businesses.
“São Paulo has enormous potential to attract new companies for several reasons: good logistics, a powerful consumer market, a favorable business environment, among others. We want to increasingly reduce bureaucracy in this process, as determined by governor Tarcísio de Freitas, so that entrepreneurs can grow and contribute to the generation of income and employment, boosting our economy”, says the Secretary of Economic Development, Jorge Lima.
For Márcio Massao Shimomoto, president of Jucesp, the numbers reflect the work to make the state’s environment more favorable for entrepreneurship. “São Paulo consolidates itself as the great showcase of entrepreneurship in Brazil”, he states.
