Exactly two weeks after the In Novi Sad, the concrete shelter above the entrance to the main railway station collapsed. the citizens of this northern Serbian city recalled 14 victims of the accident. At 11.52 a.m., i.e. at the time of the accident on November 1, people went out into the streets and stood silently for 14 minutes, drivers stopped their vehicles. A reporter from the DPA agency informed about it on Friday.
He called for a silent memory citizen’s committee. Every minute symbolized one in 14 dead, among which are two children. The shed collapsed on dozens of people. Three of the seriously injured are still in danger. Not only in Novi Sad, the fact that the authorities have so far caused a wave of criticism they did not provide a convincing explanation for the cause of the disaster. No one has been held accountable yet.
Station building from 1964, it has undergone extensive renovation in recent yearswhich was implemented by two Chinese state-owned companies, but it did not concern the shelter, which was also not justified. Critics of the government see corruption behind this.
