Ukraine wants to be strong and does not want to negotiate only with Russia.
Ukraine can only consider talks with Russia to end the war under certain conditions, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in an interview broadcast on Saturday as the conflict approaches its 1,000th day. TASR informs about it according to the report of the press agency DPA.
Zelenskyy said that these conditions include “that Ukraine will not negotiate only with Russia and that Ukraine will be strong”. .
Zelensky wants the war to end diplomatically and hopes for help from Western allies
“On our part, we must do everything in our power to end this war diplomatically next year,” Zelenskyy declared. In order to strengthen Ukraine’s negotiating position, he hopes for the help of Western allies.
Zelensky’s “victory plan”, which the president presented abroad in October, refers to “real diplomacy” from a position of strength.
This five-point plan includes a demand to invite Kiev to the Western military alliance NATO before the end of the war. In addition, Ukraine is to be massively rearmed and stricter sanctions are to be imposed on Russia.
On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a large-scale invasion of neighboring Ukraine and currently controls about a fifth of its territory. November 19 will be 1000 days from now. The Kremlin describes its aggression as a “special operation”.
