Due to the growing environmental awareness, consumers are faced with a dilemma: where to dispose of used cosmetic packaging? We will advise you on how to take care of the environment by saying goodbye to empty cream and deodorant containers.
The first step should be to get the most out of the product. Then, in accordance with the principles of sorting, we divide municipal waste into fractions: paper, metals and plastics, glass, bio and mixed waste. Knowing these basics will allow you to properly sort packaging that can be processed into new products.
The rules are simple: the yellow container holds plastic bottles, jars, tubes, caps and metal packaging. The green container is for glass bottles, containers, jars and glasses.
- Therefore, plastic caps with pumps should go in yellow.
- The glass jars themselves should go black. But let’s not forget the blue paper bin, where the outer packaging should be thrown away.
However, if doubts persist and the packaging does not clearly fit into any of the categories, its place is in the black container for mixed waste. Expired cosmetics, used wet wipes, bags with masks, aerosol cans and disposable gloves should also go here.
Correct waste separation is not only a matter of compliance with regulations, but above all a conscious choice to protect our planet. Every action, even the smallest, is important. So let’s make sure that our cosmetic habits become ecological.
