Six people were killed Sunday morning in a traffic accident in western Germany where two vehicles collided head-on, German police said. TASR informs based on the report of the DPA agency. The traffic accident occurred near the German town of Ochtrup, which is located in the west of the country in the district of Steinfurt in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, near the state border with the Netherlands.
According to the police, one of the vehicles skidded and went in the opposite direction, where it collided head-on with an oncoming vehicle. In one of the vehicles there was a driver and a passenger. The vehicle caught fire after the impact, both persons died, according to the police report.
Four people in the second vehicle were also killed, police added. The victims are currently being identified, the police spokeswoman said. A team of experts is also present at the site, which is investigating the exact circumstances of the accident, reports DPA.
