The Argentine Court issued arrest warrants for the 61 Brazilians on the run after participating in the attacks on the Três Poderes on January 8, 2023. The investigation is from Folha de S. Paulo.

According to the newspaper, the decision was made by the head of the 3rd Federal Court, judge Daniel Rafecas. To date, there are already two Brazilians detained in Argentine territory.

Last month, they were investigated for participation in the January 8 coup acts in Argentina. The determination followed a request from the Federal Police.

Those investigated violated electronic ankle monitors and left Brazil on the ground. The Federal Police recovered some of the fugitives in June, as part of Operation Lesa Pátria.

Under the Extradition Agreement between the States Parties to Mercosur, Brazil and Argentina, signatories to the agreement, undertake to reciprocally hand over people who “are in their respective territories and who are wanted by the competent authorities of another State Party”.
