In view of the , the federal deputy (União-SP) filed a bill on Tuesday (12) that provides for the inclusion of the in a database made up of people prevented from betting.
The bettor may request to be included in the database to limit their access to the platform. Insertion must be voluntary, digital and free, and the player may request the removal of their name after a minimum period of six months of inclusion.
The project determines that operators must consult the database when registering new users. It also allows the player’s inclusion to be requested by a spouse, partner, trustee, decision-maker or creditor, when there is a well-founded fear that the .
In the latter case, the creditor will have to present evidence of the risk to solvency within 15 days after inclusion in the database, while the player will be able to contest the inclusion of his name in the register.
The text also includes the permission of users entered in the database to place bets among punishable administrative infractions.
In justification, Kataguiri states that the objective of the proposal is to allow players to protect themselves, preventing them from participating in games if they identify that their behavior could be risky.
“The requirement for database consultation by betting operating agents ensures that restrictions are respected, preventing individuals with compulsive behavior from having access to games that could worsen their condition”, he says.
