But what if we could make even this almost perfect cookie even better? You can try, for example, the variant with almonds, you will definitely not make a mistake.

Christmas – in short, these are traditions that you cannot allow in your family. Good, but why not also try something new that can enrich your festive table? No one says you can’t try classic vanilla and almond rolls at the same time…

Customs and traditions belong to Christmas

Let’s assume that almost everyone has a recipe for classic vanilla rolls, which naturally includes walnuts, at home – and not just any. After all, every family has the best of all, the one that everyone likes. And you’re certainly right, it wouldn’t be quite the same without the cookies your ancestors baked. But even the almond rolls will surely win your sympathy, especially with their wonderful aroma and delicate taste. Let’s get to work.

What ingredients to prepare?

What will we need for one batch of almond vanilla rolls? Prepare 240 grams of plain flour, 160 grams of butter, 50 grams of powdered sugar, 100 grams of finely ground almonds, 1 egg yolk and a bag of vanilla sugar. That’s all, we can start preparing the dough.

Making the dough is not difficult

Even those who don’t spend long hours in the kitchen every day can make vanilla rolls. Simply mix all the ingredients together and make a smooth dough. We should care about its structure. If there are unprocessed bits of butter left in it, this carelessness will pay off badly during baking and the resulting candy will not be without defects.

You don’t have to rush to bake

The finished dough should ideally be wrapped in cling film, or in a microwave oven, and left to rest in the fridge. Don’t despair if you only get around to baking after a few days, nothing will happen to the dough. Then it will be enough to prepare the rolls according to your habits. In some families, the dough is cut out, in others they bake it in molds, and in others they just shape it by hand or in a mold and place the finished form of a plastic roll on a baking sheet. Each of these options is correct if it suits you.

Into the oven just for a moment

Baking will not take long. Once the baking sheet is full and the oven is heated to 180°C, the rolls will need to stay in the hot air for ten minutes to be sufficiently baked. After taking them out of the oven, you need to let them cool slightly, and in the meantime you can prepare a mixture of a little flour and one vanilla sugar to cover them. She gets to speak at the moment when the rolls have cooled enough that you can easily hold them in your hand.

And now the hardest part…

We’re done, baked and wrapped – and now comes the most difficult task: keeping the rolls from being eaten until the moment you want to put them on the festive table. Good luck with this, as this fragrance will attract suitors from all corners of the house.
