Rosângela da Silva, or “Janja”, Lula da Silva’s wife, said “fuck you, Elon Musk” during a conference, the richest man in the world responded that “they [“Janja” e Lula] they will lose the next election” and Bolsonaro said, taking advantage of the controversy, that “Janja” created a “diplomatic problem” with the USA
Businessman Elon Musk (who will head the future US government efficiency department) responded to the insult of Brazilian first lady Rosângela da Silva, better known in Brazil as “Janja”, referring Musk that Lula da Silva, “Janja’s” husband , will lose the next election in the country.
“They are going to lose the next election,” said Musk on X (formerly Twitter, which he owns), in response to a video that showed “Janja” being insulted.
At a conference on combating disinformation at Cria G20, in Rio de Janeiro, this Saturday, “Janja” was speaking and, when she was interrupted by a ship’s horn, she said: “Hello, I think it’s Elon Musk. I’m not afraid of you. Including: Fuck you, Elon Musk!”

“Janja” then turned to influencer Felipe Neto and said, insisting: “You said ‘fuck you’, I can too.” Felipe Neto replied: “You can and you should”.
“Janja” spoke about the regulation of digital platforms, saying that the measure should not just be local, but worldwide.
“If we don’t have this discussion globally, we won’t be able to win. So, there’s no point in us having laws here in Brazil, because it’s difficult to happen. We know all the obstacles they have”, said “Janja”.
Cria G20 is a space for the group of the world’s 20 largest nations to connect digital creators, activists and communicators to discuss hunger, inclusion and the climate emergency.
Musk’s criticisms against Brazil
During the year, Musk made several criticisms against Brazil after seeing the current X – formerly Twitter -, the social network he owns, being suspended by order of Brazilian minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF).
In response, X announced the closure of the office based in Brazil, on August 17th. According to Musk, the decision was a response to “censorship demands”.
The social network returned to operating in the country at the beginning of October after complying with Moraes’ demands, including the appointment of an official representative of X in the country.
During Musk’s attacks on Moraes, Janja said that the businessman attacked Brazilian sovereignty and called for the regulation of social networks.
Already this month, Musk was announced by the re-elected president of the United States, Donald Trump, as leader of the Department of Government Efficiency.
At the beginning of the month, Janja avoided commenting on Trump’s victory against Kamala Harris.
Bolsonaro was also involved in the controversy: “We already have another diplomatic problem”
Former President of Brazil Jair Bolsonaro also ended up commenting on the case in a publication on X, stating that Janja’s statement created a diplomatic problem.
“We already have another diplomatic problem,” wrote Bolsonaro.
