Earlier, Lula received the mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, in Rio. The two discussed the political situation in Europe and Brazil, the country’s international role and public policies that involve partnerships between cities and the Brazilian government, such as the New PAC (Growth Acceleration Program).
Anne Hidalgo is in Brazil for the largest meeting of cities in the world, which takes place before the G20. There are representatives from cities such as Phoenix and New Orleans (USA), Barcelona (Spain), Johannesburg (South Africa) and Montreal (Canada).
