Michel Pereira Santos, 33-year-old defender from Portuguesa-RJ, died this Sunday (11/17). The information was confirmed by the club’s official media and by the player’s relatives.
The player even defended the team in a game for the Campeonato Carioca and also played in Series D of the Brazilian Championship.

What is the cause of the death of the Portuguesa-RJ defender?
The defender passed away after suffering a car accident in Bahia. Michel was a native of the state. There, he began his career, with stints at teams such as Colo-Colo-BA, Serrano-BA, Atlético-BA.
In 2016, he signed with Ituano, and this year he was transferred to Portuguesa-RJ, to compete in the state.
