Railway circulation on the Algarve Line has been reestablished

Traffic was suspended due to the derailment of a train, caused by stones on the line, washed away by the rain, on Saturday morning.

Railway circulation between Fuseta and Olhão stations, on the Algarve Line, has already been reestablished, after being Infrastructures of Portugal (IP) announced today.

“After the completion of the track repair work at 04:10, circulation conditions were reestablished on the section between Fuseta and Olhão stations, on the Algarve Line”, reads a statement from IP sent to Lusa.

Traffic was suspended due to the derailment of a train, caused by stones on the line, washed away by the rain, on Saturday morning, a Civil Protection source previously told Lusa.

A speed limitation of 10 kilometers per hour was implemented when passing through the derailment site, the IP note also says.
