Rain that fell in recent weeks left good prospects for the agricultural winter

In the eyes of someone who has worked in the field all their lives, the summary is easy to make. Domingos Faustino takes care of the herd with the certainty that the winter will be calmer than in previous years because of the rain that has fallen abundantly in recent weeks.

“It’s for livestock, it’s for sowing, it’s for everything… it’s great to have rain”, explains Domingos Faustino.

It is in livestock farming that the drought is first felt, but also the abundance of water. The soils are moist and although there is still some supplementation for the animals, the next few months are filled with some optimism in the Alto Alentejo region.

With green coming into its own, some caution is always needed. It is nature that dictates the trends and success of each agricultural year.
