Apple pie with lots of apples it’s a perfect autumn cake, incredibly simple and homemade. They fit her perfectly walnutswhich will be a delicious and crunchy addition that goes perfectly with apples. You can also replace them with almonds or hazelnuts. This apple pie is perfect for everyday use with coffee or tea, or as a cake for family celebrations. Your whole family will love them from the first bite.
Before you start baking, get the right baking pan. It will work best cake tin with a diameter of 23 cm. To prepare this recipe, you will need:
- 1 kg of apples,
- 210 g of wheat flour,
- 200 g sugar,
- 110 g of butter,
- 75 ml of milk,
- 2 eggs, size L or XL,
- 1 lemon,
- 2 teaspoons of baking powder,
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract,
- 1 pinch of salt.
Additionally:
- butter on top of the cake,
- walnuts for sprinkling,
- sugar for sprinkling.
Grate the lemon peel on a fine grater and squeeze the fruit juice well, removing the seeds. Peel and core the apples. Then cut the fruit into thin slices. Place the apples in a large bowl and squeeze half the lemon juice over them. Mix gently.
Melt the butter in a small pot. Remove them from the heat, add the milk and set aside. In a small bowl, mix flour, baking powder and salt. Crack the eggs into a large bowl. Grind them with sugar until they obtain a light yellow, creamy consistency. Add lemon zest and vanilla extract. Mix.
Gradually pour the dry ingredients into the egg mixture, mixing gently. Then pour in the butter and milk. Mix together until uniform. Add half of the apples to the dough and mix gently.
Line a 23 cm diameter cake tin with baking paper and pour the apple cake mixture into it. Align. Spread the remaining apples evenly on top. Place small pieces of butter in several places.
Sprinkle the top with chopped walnuts and sugar. Put the cake in the oven preheated to 180 degrees Celsius and bake it for 60-70 minutes, until it begins to pull away slightly from the pan and a skewer inserted comes out clean.
