This Saturday (16), at the invitation of the President of the Peruvian Congress, Congressman Eduardo Salhuana, at the headquarters of the Peruvian parliament, the president of the Legislative Assembly of Acre (Aleac), deputy Luiz Gonzaga, met to discuss the strengthening of commercial integration between Acre and Peru.
During the meeting, Gonzaga highlighted the importance of the Port of Chancay to further strengthen commercial relations between Acre and Peru. The meeting was also attended by the Secretary of State for Industry, Science and Technology, Assur Mesquita, Secretary of State for Planning, Ricardo Brandão, superintendent of MAPA in Acre, Paulo Trindade, and other authorities.
Among the agendas of the meeting are the creation of an integrated customs center between Brazil and Peru to speed up imports and exports; facilitation of commercial and cargo flights between Acre and Peru; and updating vehicles to transport international cargo between the two countries.
Gonzaga stated that he leaves the meeting confident that the proposals discussed will be put into practice to contribute to the economic development of Acre.
The president of Aleac highlighted the fundamental role of governor Gladson Cameli in the search for commercial partners.
“I am grateful for the invitation from the president of the Peruvian Congress to discuss topics of importance for both regions. I am sure that we leave here with important proposals and actions for the future that will develop the regions of Acre and Madre de Dios. We are neighbors and we need to strengthen our commercial relations, as this will help us develop our state and also the Peruvian region,” said Gonzaga.
“Thanks to the efforts of Governor Gladson, Acre has advanced in exporting our products to countries such as Peru, Bolivia and Asia. We are working together, Aleac and the government, with the purpose of generating even more jobs and income for our Acre people”, he said.
The president of the Peruvian Congress highlighted the visit of the president of Aleac and government secretaries and stated that the meeting served to define demands that will guarantee greater development in the regions.
“I welcome with great satisfaction the president of Aleac and the secretaries of Acre to discuss strengthening our commercial relations. We all know that Acre and Madre de Dios have a historical border relationship and this must be explored so that this link can be transformed into development for both regions. It was agreed that we will begin a process of greater integration so that we know what products we can import and export to Acre and China”, said the congressman.
Secretary Assur Mesquita highlighted that the meeting was important to present to the Peruvian Congress the main agendas for strengthening Acre and Peru integration.
“We had this important meeting in the Peruvian Congress where we could present the agendas that will strengthen our commercial relations with Peru. The president of the Peruvian Congress comes from the Madre de Dios region, which is linked to Acre and is experiencing the same challenges that our state has been experiencing. As a result, the Peruvian government is aware of the main demands and proposals and we took the opportunity to create a committee to deal with the regional demands of the two border regions”, said Assur.
