Practically a third of young Italian graduates cannot find a job. Portugal is better, but not much better.
Portugal is near the bottom on the list of European Union countries, as far as recent graduates trying to find jobs.
The numbers prepared by take into account young people between the ages of 20 and 34 who manage to find a job, at most, three years after graduating.
Last year, in the European Union, 83,5% of recent graduates found employment during this period.
It is a growth of 1.1% compared to the previous year, but it is a 9.2% increase compared to 10 years before, highlights the .
Malta leads, with an impressive 95.8% of young graduates finding employment quickly.
Follow Netherlands e Germany, the only other countries to surpass the 90% threshold in this context.
Portugal appears (much) lower. With a rate of 82,4%, There are only 8 countries with worse numbers, out of a total of 27 Member States of the European Union.
But the country that is really at the bottom is the Italy: 67.5% of young graduates get a job within three years of obtaining their diploma.
In other words, looking the other way around, practically one in three recent graduates takes a long time to get a job.
Details: this percentage does not include the (many) workers irregular that exists in Italy. There will be around 3 million people, almost 13% of the country’s active population.
