Just 1 teaspoon is enough for the sansevieria to sprout leaf after leaf
Sansevieria is also known in Poland as snake plant or mother-in-law’s tongue. This is undoubtedly one of the most popular potted plants in Polish homes. Sword-like leaves in an intense green color, with yellow borders or spots, attract attention and are a beautiful decoration of any room. Moreover, it is really easy, so it is not surprising that it has become so popular. Of course, in addition to providing it with an appropriate location and hydration, you must not forget about nourishing the sansevieria. Gelatin will work great in this case. Literally one teaspoon of gelatin is enough to prepare it. Thanks to it, it will grow like crazy and start sprouting leaf after leaf. Well, gelatin is a very good source of nitrogen. This is an ingredient that quickly washes out of the soil, so it needs to be supplemented intensively. Especially when we notice that the sansevieria has stopped growing or its leaves are turning yellow.
Homemade fertilizer for sansevieria. How to prepare it?
To prepare homemade sansevieria fertilizer, you need one teaspoon of gelatin. Dissolve it in a cup of hot water. Then dilute the solution in three glasses of cold water. How to use gelatin for potted plants? Water the sansevieria with the cooled mixture once a month during the growing season. You will quickly notice when it turns green and starts to sprout new shoots.
Coil care. What does Sansevieria like?
As I mentioned earlier, it is not complicated. It grows best in substrate for cacti and succulents. Humus soil, sand, perlite and gravel will dry out faster and prevent the roots from rotting. Sansevieria likes a position with diffused light, then it colors beautifully. However, it also does well in shady places. For the plant to grow straight, it must not be overwatered. We water it with a small amount of standing water at most once a week, when the soil is completely dry.
