In a recent interview with journalist Astério Moreira, on the Gazeta Entrevista program, the president of the Commercial, Industrial, Service and Agricultural Association of Acre (ACISA), Patrícia Dossa, said she was against the Proposed Amendment to the Constitution (PEC) which aims to reduce working hours from 44 to 36 hours per week, that is, eliminating the 6X1 scale.
According to her, the PEC should bring significant losses and affect several sectors with the change. In his assessment, segments of continuous areas, such as Commerce, may suffer with the approval of the PEC.
“I think the biggest loser will be Commerce. Because, if we are going to give more time off to current employees, we are going to have to have other employees. Will the job offer increase? Great, but then businesspeople will spend more”, he states.
According to Patrícia, the news that Acre deputies signed the proposal positively left her discouraged. And he states that the population’s happiness can turn into immense sadness, as he believes that in the end it will be a problem.
“The population thinks it’s great that there will be more time off, workers’ mental health will be much better, but there will be problems. It won’t be nice. Now they will work less, but this salary will have to be reduced too. Somewhere the bomb will explode later”, he commented.
The president of ACISA also states that she has already submitted proposals to reduce public holidays to the government. “We, as a commercial association, have already submitted to government candidates in the last election proposals for improvements for traders and businesspeople, and one of them is to reduce the number of state holidays and optional points,” he said.
