In the case of both policemen from the recent incident in Košice, after which the arrested person died, the process of dismissal from employment is underway. Police chief Ľubomír Solák informed about this at Monday’s press conference. The attack by a police officer on a detained person took place on November 5 in the sanitary room of a department store.
“In the case of a police officer who is accused and is in custody, the process of dismissal is ongoing. In the case of a police officer who was in the position of a witness, the process of being placed outside the performance of duty and at the same time the process of dismissal from employment is ongoing,” said Solák, saying that these are parallel processes and a technical act. “He is no longer serving today,” he added.
On November 5, a Košice police officer was supposed to have inflicted multiple injuries on a man arrested for a crime, from which he succumbed to the injuries the next day in the hospital. He is being prosecuted in custody, he filed a complaint against the decision. The second policeman has not yet been charged.
