Lula’s minister said that the first lady’s insults to Musk reflect feelings about the businessman’s role in politics
The minister of agrarian development and family farming, Paulo Teixeira, defended this Sunday (Nov 17, 2024) first lady Janja Lula da Silva after she cursed South African billionaire Elon Musk.
Teixeira said that the president’s wife (PT) spoke “what was stuck in our throats” regarding the businessman, chosen by President Donald Trump (Republican) to join his government from 2025.
Janja says “”– “go fuck yourself”, of the English translation – during a panel on combating disinformation at the G20, on Saturday (16.nov). For the minister, her speech reflects the “feeling” regarding the “negative interference in international politics” the Musk.

The first lady said on Saturday (16.Nov.2024) that she is not afraid of the owner of (former Twitter), South African billionaire Elon Musk, and sent him “fuck off”in English. The speech took place during Cria G20, a hub of content producers that is part of the Summit’s parallel programming.
“I’m not afraid of you. Including, fuck you, Elon Musk”he declared. Afterwards, Janja is applauded and screams can be heard from the audience.
The first lady’s speech was improvised. She was in the audience while panelists, including the influencer, discussed the topic. According to her, this was one of the most important panels at the event. Janja also defended the regulation of social networks. “If we don’t have this discussion globally, we won’t be able to win. There is no point in having laws in Brazil – and that is difficult to happen, we know the obstacles – if we do not discuss this issue globally. […] There’s no point in doing this and the US arrives and ‘we’re not going to do it’”he stated.
Shortly after the speech, there was a noise in the sound and Janja played with the businessman’s name. “It’s Elon Musk”he said, stating again that he was not afraid of him.
Musk, owner of X (formerly Twitter), reacted to the insult on Saturday. “LOL”, wrote on the platform, using the English acronym for “laughing out loud”. Musk’s demonstration was in response to a publication by federal deputy Nikolas Ferreira (PL-MG). “Janja da Silva, Lula’s wife, just said ‘fuck you, @elonmusk’ during the G20 social panel. This is the ‘tolerant’ left.”wrote the parliamentarian.
In another post, responding to the European portal Visegrad 24, who also shared the video of the moment, Musk wrote “They will lose the next election” and ended with laughing emojis. “Shortly”, replied the portal.
