The Israeli army has confirmed that it neutralized the spokesman of the Iran-backed militant movement Hezbollah, Muhammad Afif, in an attack in the area of the Lebanese capital Beirut on Sunday. TASR informs about it based on the AFP report.
The army “conducted a precision attack based on intelligence in the Beirut area and eliminated the terrorist Muhammad Afif,” it announced. According to her statements, Afif “directly participated in the terrorist activity of Hezbollah directed against the State of Israel.”
The movement also confirmed the death of its spokesman and described him on the Telegram platform as a “pillar” of Hezbollah’s media and political work. According to DPA, the spokesman was also a confidant of the former leader of the group, Hasan Nasrallah, who was killed in an Israeli airstrike at the end of September.
Security sources specified that the attack hit the building where the offices of the Baath party are located. Data from the Lebanese Ministry of Health indicate that the said airstrike claimed three lives and 14 were injured.
