“People in the Biden administration are trying to escalate the situation to the maximum while they are still in power and in office,” Butinová told Reuters. “I very much hope that (President-elect Donald) Trump reverses this decision, if indeed it was made, because they are seriously risking the start of World War III, which is in nobody’s interest.” she emphasized.
Two US officials and a source familiar with the decision announced on Sunday a significant shift in Washington’s policy on the war in Ukraine. According to them, the United States allowed Kiev to attack the interior of Russia with long-range missiles made in the USA. The New York Times confirmed this decision, but the Kremlin has not yet commented on the report.

“My guess is that there are certain people living in the United States who, for some reason, feel like they have nothing to lose or are so detached from reality that they don’t care,” said Butin.
The politician previously spent 18 months in a US prison after pleading guilty to a conspiracy to operate in the United States as an unregistered foreign agent. At the time, the Russian government claimed that American authorities forced Butin to confess.
