Brendan Carr is set to be appointed head of the FCC. The new US president called Carr a “warrior for freedom of expression”, a man who supports and wants to “take back control” of the big tech companies.
Brendan Carr immediately hit back via X, first “thanking” the “(elect) president,” then insisting that “we must dismantle the censorship cartel” he says is imposed by tech giants like Facebook, Google, Apple and Microsoft , and to “restore the right to free speech to ordinary Americans.”

Carr has been with the FCC since 2012. He has been one of its commissioners since 2017 and was appointed to the position by Trump during his first term. Previously, he worked as a lawyer specializing in regulatory issues.
“It will end the onslaught of regulation that has crippled America’s job creators and innovation, and make sure the FCC meets the needs of rural America,” Mr. Trump assured.
