The Ukrainian president said this evening that “the missiles speak for themselves” and “such things are not announced”, following reports that they were US-made.
Washington has given Kiev the go-ahead to bomb Russian territory with long-range missiles supplied to the Ukrainian military by the US, two officials and a source said today, in a bigger shift in US policy in the war in Ukraine.

Washington’s decision to allow Ukraine to strike deep into Russia with US long-range missiles could lead to World War III and will receive a swift response, Vladimir Dzabarov, the vice-chairman of the Federation Council’s Foreign Affairs Committee, said today, according to the Russian news agency TASS.
“The language Putin understands”
Washington’s authorization for Kiev to strike Russian territory with long-range missiles is a “language that (Russian President Vladimir) Putin understands,” Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski said.
“On the entry of North Korean troops into the war and the massive Russian missile attack, President (American Joe) Biden responded in a language that B. understands. Putin,” Sikorsky told X.
According to the Polish minister, “the victim of an attack has the right to defend himself.”
It has remained a staunch supporter of Kiev since the start of the Russian invasion.
Ukraine’s already badly damaged energy grid came under one of the biggest Russian attacks in months this morning, with raids that killed nine people and injured around 20 across the country, authorities said.
