A shocking video showing the dramatic escape of a man accused of killing his family has gone viral on social media. The incident, which took place in Tijeras, New Mexico, left everyone in shock, both at the heinous crime and the events that followed.
According to court documents, Adlai Mestre, 24, allegedly killed his family before being arrested by the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO). Officers arrived on the scene after a neighbor reported hearing gunshots at a home on Young Road. Master was found covered in blood and holding a gun. Authorities later discovered the bodies of his parents, Raymundo (age 46) and Bertha (age 51), as well as his 17-year-old sister, Breille.
Mestre admitted to the murders, stating that he had shot his family members inside the house, dragged the bodies outside and tried to clean up the scene. He also confessed to having shot the family dog, which had to be put down due to its injuries.
While in custody, Mestre displayed erratic behavior, writing notes about “seismic waves” and claiming to have fired shots at telecommunications towers. The viral video shows Mestre fleeing the interrogation room after kicking the wall of the room, while the agents were momentarily distracted.
But already during the escape, inside the police facilities, Mestre was quickly recaptured by the agents.
