Coach Hernán Crespo, formerly of São Paulo and Al Ain, from Saudi Arabia, can coach Grêmio in 2025. Tricolor is negotiating with the Argentine and hopes to reach an agreement, with the imminent departure of Renato Portaluppi.
According to Jornal OIé, from Argentina, the coach observes market movements to close with the team from Rio Grande do Sul. Crespo left Al Ain in November, having played 49 games and 22 wins in two seasons. With the Arab club, he won the Asian Champions League.

Will Renato leave Grêmio?
Renato Gaúcho is in a farewell mood at Grêmio. After a fluctuating season, with a state title and a fight to stay in Series A, Portaluppi was the target of criticism from some of the Grêmio fans and had its stay contested. He has a contract with the club until the end of December.
Renato is in his fourth stint as coach of Grêmio. The coach has been at the club since 2022, winning two Gaúchos, in 2023 and 2024, and a Recopa Gaúcha, in 2023. In total, including all spells at Grêmio, there are ten trophies, including five Gaúchos, two Recopas Gaúchas, one Copa do Brazil, in 2016, a Libertadores, in 2017, and a Recopa Sul-Americana, in 2018.

Hernan Crespo
Crespo began his coaching career in the youth teams of Parma, in Italy, and then coached Modena. The first experiences in South America were in Argentina, at Banfield and Defensa y Justicia. He had a brief spell at São Paulo, in 2021, when he won Paulistão.
Since then, he has coached Al-Duhail, from Qatar, and Al Ain, from the United Arab Emirates.
Tite
Tite, since leaving Flamengo, has been a strong name to coach Grêmio. He emerged onto the national scene precisely at the club from Rio Grande do Sul, with the 2001 Copa do Brasil title. He has a strong identification with the fans, despite his time at Inter in 2008 and 2009.
Pedro Caixinha
Portuguese coach Pedro Caixinha, formerly of Red Bull Bragantino, was offered to Grêmio, according to information released by the “Band” channel. Without Renato Portaluppi’s guaranteed stay at Imortal, Caixinha is another option to lead the club from Rio Grande do Sul in 2025.
José Peseiro
Peseiro is a coach known for offensive football, with ball possession and a lot of speed. In recent work, it was like this when he took over Venezuela, where he stayed from 2020 to 2021, directing the team in the 2021 Copa América, when he launched Savarino, Soteldo, José Martínez, among other Venezuelan players who are in Brazilian football.
