Santos officially announced, on Monday afternoon (11/18), the departure of coach Fábio Carille. The 51-year-old coach left the club after winning Series B of the Brazilian Championship, but the team’s performance was not pleasing, especially the fans.

What did Santos say about Carille’s departure?
In a statement on social media this Monday afternoon (11/18), Santos announced the departure of Fábio Carille. According to Peixe, the decision was made in agreement with the coach.
“Santos Futebol Clube informs that, by mutual agreement, Fábio Carille is no longer the Club’s coach. Fábio Carille and the members of the Technical Committee were hired to rebuild Santos and achieved all the objectives and goals proposed in 2024. Santos Futebol Clube thanks coach Fábio Carille and wishes him success in continuing his career”, says the statement.
The coach will no longer manage Santos in the last game of Série B, against Sport, on Sunday (24/11), at 6:30 pm, on Ilha do Retiro. Leandro Zago, under-20 coach, will lead the team.

In a post on social media, Carille said goodbye to Santos, thanking staff, players and management, in addition to highlighting his achievements during his second spell.
“This Monday, we agreed on my departure from Santos after achieving the objective of winning the Series B title and putting the club back in its place, which is in the elite of Brazilian football. I leave with the feeling of a mission accomplished, aware that everything we achieved was based on hard daily work from everyone at Santos. I leave, as in my first stint, very honored to represent one of the biggest clubs in the world. It is a privilege to be part of the history of Santos Futebol Clube. I thank everyone who participated. of this project and believed from the beginning in what was planned. With the victory of Série B, Santos will enter the third phase of the Copa do Brasil 2025. This is a bonus given by the CBF as a form of incentive.
