The G20 leaders approved, by consensus, the final declaration of the summit, this Monday (18). The declaration, which contains 22 pages and 85 paragraphs, was approved after the inclusion of two words in different paragraphs, which allowed the approval of the representatives, which were recorded, but not incorporated into the final text.
The document reaffirms the G20’s commitment to facing global challenges, promoting strong, sustainable and inclusive growth. The declaration highlights the importance of leaving no one behind, emphasizing the need for a fair and sustainable world.
“We meet at the birthplace of the Sustainable Development Agenda to reaffirm our commitment”, says the text, which also addresses the taxation of the super-rich as one of the Brazilian flags at the summit.

The issue of taxation was mentioned, with the G20 seeking to ensure that very high-income individuals are effectively taxed, respecting the fiscal sovereignty of each country.
The declaration endorses the need for progressive taxation as a tool to reduce inequalities and strengthen fiscal sustainability, promoting balanced and inclusive growth.
In addition to economic issues, the G20 declaration also addresses global conflicts, reaffirming the need for all States to act in accordance with UN principles.
