Aimed at students, researchers and professionals, the workshop aims to present participants with the theoretical and methodological foundations of the modern analysis of the functioning of the Legislative Branch in contemporary democracies. It also seeks to show how this apparatus was absorbed in studies on Brazilian politics since the democratic transition that began in the 80s of the last century. Furthermore, it focuses on how to apply instruments and techniques to research Legislative Assemblies.

The course schedule covers three main classes, each focused on fundamental themes for understanding the functioning of the Legislature, covering general theory and analytical perspectives; Brazilian theory and the study of state legislatures. The classes aim to provide a comprehensive view of the theories and practices of the Brazilian Legislature, focusing on both general analyzes and specific studies of state cases.

The workshop offers a valuable opportunity to deepen understanding of the Brazilian Legislature and reflect on its dynamics, both at the federal and state levels, using practical and theoretical examples.
