A 34-year-old man who abused and threatened to kill his mother and grandmother, in Abrantes, was sentenced to do yoga and athletics to avoid prison.
Or prison or yoga: The Abrantes Court ordered a registered person with a history of violence to attend yoga classes as an alternative to being arrested.
The court found that the 34-year-old man mistreated and Threatened to kill his 88-year-old mother and grandmother.
According to , the defendant was sentenced to three years and eight months in prison with a suspended sentence – and subject to the following “rules of conduct”: attending yoga classes; do athletics; not contacting victims or approaching them; and attend programs to combat alcoholism and narcotics use.
According to the CM, the man is alcohol and drug consumer light. The morning newspaper says that this man’s criminal record, among other crimes, already contained convictions for offense to physical integrity, possession of a prohibited weapon, aggravated threat and coercion.
The CM also states that the man’s mother currently lives in a residence for victims of domestic violence; with the grandmother going to a shelter.
