The president of the (National Bank for Economic and Social Development), and the socio-environmental director, will hold a virtual meeting next Monday (25) with 51 indigenous people from Pará to discuss access to the Amazon Fund.
The meeting, which will focus on the preservation of the Amazon, was organized by the leader of the PT in the Senate, Beto Faro (PA). The intention is to debate how indigenous people from the South, Southeast and West regions of Pará can access the fund’s resources.
This Sunday (17), American President Joe Biden during a visit to Manaus. The amount depends on Congressional approval.
The fund is made up of resources for conservation in Brazil. On the same day, Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre in the background.
The fund’s money is used for projects to prevent, monitor and combat deforestation, in addition to conservation actions and sustainable use of the Amazon biome, but up to 20% of the resources can be used for other biomes.
