According to the spokesperson of the United Nations Children’s Fund, 1,100 children suffered injuries.
More than 200 children have died in Lebanon in less than two months, the period that has passed since the intensification of fighting between Israel and the pro-Iranian Lebanese movement Hezbollah. James Elder, spokesman for the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), informed about this on Tuesday. TASR informs about it based on the AFP report.
“Over the past two months, an average of three children have been killed in Lebanon every single day,” a UNICEF spokesman said. According to him, 1,100 children were injured.
The war between the pro-Iranian movement Hezbollah and Israel has been ongoing since October 8, 2023. The movement began shelling Israel in support of the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, and the fighting intensified significantly on September 23, 2024, following the expansion of Israeli military operations against Hezbollah in Lebanon.
