Former minister of the Bolsonaro government would also be the cabinet coordinator to restore order; Heleno would be boss and Filipe Martins, advisor
The soldiers arrested in operation this Tuesday (19.Nov.2024) would have discussed the plan to assassinate the minister of the STF (Supreme Federal Court) Alexandre de Moraes, the president (PT) and the vice president (PSB), at the residence of the general Braga Netto, on November 12, 2022, according to the PF (Federal Police).
On that occasion, the operational planning for the actions of the ““, special operations group of the Brazilian Army, was presented and approved, according to the investigations.
The ex-president’s former aide-de-camp, lieutenant colonel Mauro Cid, and the 2 soldiers arrested in the action authorized by the STF (read the ), Major Rafael de Oliveira and Lieutenant Colonel Helio Ferreira Lima.
METHOD OF WORKING
Since November 2022, the alleged criminal organization had been monitoring Alexandre de Moraes in order to murder him on December 15, 2022. According to investigations, the monitoring began, “temporarily”right after the meeting at Braga Netto’s house.
O retired general Mário Fernandes prepared a document that detailed the group’s action. In it, cited the need to establish a “crisis office” to reestablish the “legality and institutional stability”.
Fernandes would be part of the strategic advisor to the cabinet, together with Colonel Élcio. General Heleno, former vice president in the Bolsonaro government, would be the chief of staff. The general coordinator would be General Braga Netto.
Some less important names, close to Fernandes, would make up the intelligence advisory team: Colonel Azevedo, Colonel Vieira de Abreu (known as “Velame”) —then Mário’s chief of staff—, and Colonel Kormann. The institutional relations department would be occupied by Filipe Martins, Bolsonaro’s former advisor.
“The Federal Police was successful in identifying a draft for the establishment of a Crisis Cabinet, which would be created on 12/16/2022, after the coup d’état, composed mostly of military personnel, under the command of generals Augusto Heleno and Braga Netto, also counting on the participation of general Mário Fernandes and Filipe Martins”says the PF.
