On Tuesday, the Polish government approved a bill on capping electricity prices for households at the level of 500 Polish zlotys (115.53 euros) per megawatt hour (MWh). The measure, effective from January 1 until the end of September next year, will cost the state budget PLN five billionannounced the Polish Ministry of Climate. The climate ministry said that without state aid, households would have to pay PLN 623 for one MWh of electricity. “Electricity in Polish households will not become more expensive in 2025we are freezing energy prices for nine months,” Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said before the government meeting.
By September next year, market prices should fallso it is possible that another freeze will not be necessary, but if it is, we will discuss it, Tusk added.
