Group offended students with racist and aporophobic phrases during university games last Saturday (16)
Recently, an incident involving law students at (PUC-SP) generated great repercussions and resulted in interns at law firms. The students were accused of attacking USP students during university games held in Americana, in the interior of São Paulo, last Saturday (16). Videos circulating on social media show PUC-SP students making derogatory comments and gestures that simulate money, directed at USP quota students as “poor”.
In response to what happened, two law firms took immediate action. The Castro Barros office announced the dismissal of an intern involved, highlighting its rejection of discriminatory practices. Likewise, the Pinheiro Neto office regrets last Saturday’s episode and confirmed the dismissal of an intern. Meanwhile, the Machado Meyer office is conducting an internal investigation to determine the facts before making any decision. PUC-SP also spoke out, stating that it is investigating the case and strongly condemning any form of violence, racism and aporophobia.
