They specialize in irregular warfare, tactical actions to infiltrate enemy territory and transforming laypeople into combatants. The nickname comes from the fact that they wear black hats.
The “black kids” are considered the most combative soldiers in the Army, trained in extreme conditions – which, in the opinion of generals interviewed by Folha, results in an equally more extreme character.
A carried out search and seizure and arrest warrants this Tuesday morning (19) against suspects of being part of a criminal organization that, according to investigations, planned a coup d’Ă©tat in 2022 to prevent the president from taking office ().
Regarding Tuesday’s operation, the PF stated that, among the actions that would be developed to prevent Lula’s inauguration, was the “Green and Yellow Dagger” plan, which would be the murder of the PT member and his deputy, ().
Another target, always according to the PF’s findings, would be the minister of the (Supreme Federal Court), who would be arrested and subsequently killed.
At least four soldiers, one of whom is a retired general, are targets of the measures implemented in three states (RJ, GO, AM) and the Federal District. All arrests have already been carried out.
They are reserve general Mario Fernandes and lieutenant colonels Hélio Ferreira Lima, Rafael Martins de Oliveira and Rodrigo Bezerra de Azevedo. Federal police officer Wladimir Matos Soares is also among those targeted by the warrants — he has also already been arrested.
Mario Fernandes was executive secretary of the General Secretariat of the Presidency during the Bolsonaro government. He was also an advisor to federal deputy Eduardo Pazuello (-RJ), but left the position following a decision by the STF.
The general lives in BrasĂlia, but was enjoying time off with his family in Rio de Janeiro at the time he was arrested. He was taken to the Federal Police of Rio, where he must initially be arrested and give a statement.
The other soldiers had special forces training, the so-called “black kids”, and were in command positions in the Army until the investigations began.
