It’s Lionel Messi’s day at Bombonera. Argentina hosts Peru this Tuesday (11/19), at 9pm (Brasília time), in the 12th round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. The game will take place at the mythical Boca Juniors stadium, in Buenos Aires.
The Argentine team goes to the field in search of recovery. In the last round, they lost 2-1 to Paraguay.
Despite the defeat, the current world champions lead the Qualifiers, with 22 points from 11 games. In the first round, Argentina beat Peru 2-0.

Argentina lineup against Peru
Coach Lionel Scaloni has several absences for the duel. Romero, Nahuel Molina, Lisandro Martínez and Germán Pezzella, all injured, will not play. The absences meant that Scaloni called in Giuliano Simeone, from Atlético de Madrid, and Facundo Medina, from Lens, at the last minute.

The match will also mark Messi’s last game of the season. Inter Miami, the star’s team, was eliminated from MLS.
Regarding the team that lost to Paraguay, coach Lionel Scaloni should make two changes: Molina gives place to Montiel on the right flank and, in defense, Romero leaves and Balerdi should be the starter.
