Aloe is an extremely popular plant that is widely used in beauty care. It is definitely worth having at home, both for the soothing properties of the gel and for its beautiful appearance. But how to propagate this type of plant so that they have enough seedlings? Contrary to appearances, it is not difficult. In our article, we will look at how to effectively transplant aloe.
Aloe belongs to the group of succulents that are relatively easy to grow. This plant, if it is properly watered and is not exposed to strong adverse conditions, e.g. high temperature from radiators, does not require excessive attention.
What conditions does aloe like?
It is eagerly chosen, primarily because of the healing properties of the gel. There are different types of aloe, although the most common aloe in our homes is the tree-like aloe. This plant naturally grows in desert areas, therefore she likes a lot of sunlight. In addition, it does not require frequent watering – about once every two weeks is enough. Aloe also grows quite quickly, small seeds turn into sprawling “trees” almost in the blink of an eye.
How to propagate aloe?
This plant is easy to propagate. If it has suitable conditions for growth, over time we will notice young cuttings. In this case, we already have our seedlings, just transplant them into a new pot. But we have to remember that these little plants are very delicate – especially their roots. Therefore, we should transplant aloe carefully. If our plant does not produce cuttings, we can cut off its top and place it in water, after a few days it should sprout roots, then we can put it in a new pot.
Seedlings should be placed in a substrate that allows air to pass through well. Let’s also not forget to make drainage holes in the pots. Aloe does not require very large pots – he does better in smaller ones. Therefore, it is enough to enforce it every few years.
Why is it worth having aloe?
By choosing this plant, we will be able to make various cosmetics ourselves. The gel contained in aloe leaves can be used, among other things, for: as a moisturizing face or body mask or as a hair mask. For this purpose, it is best to use the lower leaves, which are the largest and have the most gel. It should be gently torn off and cut on the side that connected it to the whole plant. Then gently remove the top layer and extract the gel.
No serum or base. I apply it on my face and in the morning my skin is like a newborn
