Airline sector records record with 10.4 million passengers transported in October

The month of October presented a new annual record for the airline sector in Brazil, with an increase of 7.8% compared to data from the same period in 2023. There were 10.4 million people using the mode, which led to accumulated from 2024 to 97.5 million tourists transported in the domestic and international market.

On domestic flights, 8.3 million people were transported, an increase of 6.5% compared to the same period last year. International air transport increased by 11%, with 2.1 million tourists traveling abroad.

“The rise in air transport indicators is a reflection of President Lula’s good management, with a boom in the economy, controlled inflation and investments never seen before in the country’s history,” said the Minister of Ports and Airports, Silvio Costa Filho. He assesses that the data is in line with projections made at the beginning of the year.

Cargo transport in the airline sector has also followed the pace of expansion observed in passenger movement. According to the ministry, there were 44.2 thousand tons in the domestic market, a value 14.8% higher than in 2023 and the largest volume transported since 2015.
