Five Folha journalists are awarded – 11/19/2024 – Power

Five journalists, including reporters and editors from Sheetwere winners of the 10th edition of the Specialists Award in their respective coverage categories this Tuesday (19).

In an event held by Cecom (Center for Communication Studies) and the Plataforma Negócios da Comunicação, journalists from 26 categories were awarded awards. In each of them, at least three professionals were elected via electronic voting by the press community.

From the newspaper, they were laureates, special reporter for Sheetthe Books editor in the Culture category, the reporter in the Education category, the Market editor in the Financial category, and the special reporter in the Politics category.

Collucci, one of the four winners in the Health category, has a master’s degree in history of science from PUC-SP and a postgraduate degree in health management from FGV (Fundação Getúlio Vargas). She has been with the newspaper, on and off, since 1990. In the category, in addition to the reporter for SheetCarolina Marcelino, from CNN, Mariana Varella, from Portal Drauzio Varella, and Thaís Manarini, from the newspaper Estado de S. Paulo, also won.

Walter Porto, Books editor, writes the column, about literature and the publishing market. He was a reporter for Ilustrada and Ilustríssima. Also awarded in the category were Adriana Couto, from TV Cultura and Charlise Morais, from Estado de S. Paulo.

Isabela Palhares has been writing about education since 2015. Graduated in journalism from PUC-Campinas, she participated in the first course on early childhood development at ICFJ (International Center for Journalists). In Education, Luiza Tenente, from the Globo network, and Renata Cafardo, from the State of S. Paulo, also received the award.

Ana Estela de Sousa Pinto has been at Folha since 1988 and has worked in politics, science, education and health. She was a correspondent in Europe, editor-in-chief of Folha da Tarde and editor of the regional, Photography and Market sections. Alongside her, Denise Campos de Toledo, from TV Gazeta, Valéria Bretas, from Estado de S. Paulo, and Mateus Fagundes, from Agência Estado, were awarded.

Alexa Salomão was editor from 2017 to 2022. She has been covering economics since 1994, highlighting macroeconomics, finance, energy, infrastructure and agribusiness. Along with her, César Felício, from Valor Econômico, José Roberto de Toledo, from UOL, and Josias de Souza, from UOL and Gazeta, were honored in the category.

According to the award, all those chosen are renowned names in journalism and have in common their dedication to in-depth news in each of their editorial areas.
