With the draw, Brazil lost one position in the round and is in fifth place, with 18 points. Uruguay remained second in the standings, now with 20 points.

Brazil x Uruguay: how it was
The first half had a lot of running from both teams, but little effectiveness. Brazil “held the cards” most of the time, but there were scares. At 38, Valverde appeared free in the Brazilian area, but shot poorly.
The Brazilian team’s best chance in the initial stage came in the 46th minute. Raphinha took a corner from the right and Igor Jesus headed it hard, but the ball went into the middle of the goal and Rochet managed to hit it.
Vini Jr didn’t appear much in the first half. Blocked on the left, he went to the middle several times, but was unable to connect with Igor Jesus. The Botafogo striker also barely touched the ball. Raphinha, who has been “flying” at Barcelona, was also left out.

The second half started with a Brazilian finish after seven seconds. Savinho stole the ball in the attacking field, took it to the edge of the area and shot, but from the baseline.
Brazil had another chance at seven, with a shot from Vini Jr that passed to Rochet’s left. However, it was Uruguay who opened the scoring, at nine, with a beautiful goal from Valverde, from outside the area.
After the goal conceded, Dorival Júnior removed Igor Jesus and Abner, promoting the entry of Luiz Henrique and Gabriel Martinelli. The idea was to reinforce the wings. And that’s how Brazil reached a draw, at 16. Raphinha crossed from the left, the defense took it badly and Gerson hit a beautiful shot.
The goal cheered up the Brazilian team, but they lacked the inspiration to score again. At 33, Vini Jr appeared right in front of the area, but was disarmed by the defense when he was about to enter the goal. At 35, it was Raphinha’s turn to try, but he finished over the goal. Little for the only five-time champion team in the world, which left the field booed at Fonte Nova.
Brazil x Uruguay: goals
Uruguay opened the scoring nine minutes into the first half. On the left, Maxi Araújo passed the ball to Valverde, who hit a great finish from outside the area.
